About Me

Hello! I'm Lizzy! Over the past year I have begun an epic journey - I've moved to a new state, lost nearly a hundred pounds, gone vegan, and changed my name. Most importantly, I decided that there was nothing more important in this world than being unapologetically yourself.

So who am I? I don't know to complete answer to that question yet, but I'll give you some tidbits. I am a dreamer, a sojourner peering over the precipice with a curious heart. I love nature, art, literature, quiet music, and adventure. I am enamored with the Magic City (Birmingham), which just happens to be my new home.

I have a restless spirit, an anxiety disorder, and am constantly wriggling free from the constraints of the status quo. I am a writer and that's what I do with my time. I have an awesome husband who is the only reason I don't put the word "starving" in front of that career title. When it comes to success my biggest foe has and always will be myself. I have spent the last quarter century being a people pleaser on a quest to add more and more folks to my repertoire who liked me. I realized much too late that no one could like me if I couldn't take the time to get to know myself enough to present an actual person to the world. In addition, it's taken me nearly thirty years to realize that being liked isn't all that satisfying anyway. Ripest peach and all that.

Anyway, this is a blog about my vegan food/recipes, my weightloss efforts, my deepest thoughts, and my corner to share. If you're interested where I am at in that weight loss quest, I am 70.6 pounds down and still have a substantial amount more to lose. Here's a side by side of where we stand:

I've still got a double chin, a muffin top, and a plus size status but I have made a good bit of progress too. My "weightlossiversary" is July 2014 so we are coming up on ONE year spent on track and working in the right direction. I'm already excited imagining where we will be in another year.

Anyway, this is my life that I spend with my sexy husband, my three little dogs, and my two fat kitties. Thanks for taking the time to get to know me!
